Men's Soccer Wins Regular Season Finale, Will Host Cleary in WHAC Quarterfinals

LIMA, OH - UNOH men's soccer scored two first half goals in the regular season finale Saturday afternoon keeping Lawrence Tech off the board for their eighth shutout of the year, 2-0.

The Racers wasted no time getting on the front foot netting their first just seven minutes into the match. Alfie Roffey dropped a dime into the box that took one hop right in front of the keeper where Jayson Janofski half vollied near post for a 1-0 lead on the first shot of the game.

As the team's settled in, the match swung back and forth with chances at both ends but it wasn't until the 40th minute that the ball found the back of the net. This time, it was Eguzki Hashimoto doing all the work himself as he beat three defenders off the dribble before side-stepping a fourth inside the penalty box and rolling the ball past the keeper and into the bottom corner. The same end-to-end flow continued into the second half but both keepers matched their opponents running out the final horn with the match still 2-0 for UNOH.

With the win, UNOH finishes the regular season in third place in the conference standings with an 8-2-1 record. They will now host Cleary in the WHAC Quarterfinals next Saturday, November 1. The Racers defeated the Cougars 7-0 in their earlier matchup in September.
