Volleyball Drops Two on Grand Rapids Weekend

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - UNOH volleyball had a tough weekend taking on two of the top teams in the conference this weekend. The Racers began at (RV) Cornerstone on Saturday falling in straight sets 25-11, 25-14 and 25-6. A quick turnaround to take on (RV) Aquinas on Sunday produced similar results again falling in three games 25-15, 25-12, 25-13.
Against Cornerstone, a season low offensive production saw Shamyria DuBose leading with just 4.5 points on three kills, one solo block and one block assist. Riley Treece led defensively with 13 digs while Savanna Reed finished with a team high seven assists.
On Sunday it was Aliyah Saylor leading the team with 5.5 points on five kills and one assisted block. Paige Hoodlebrink led with nine assists while Kalaya Fitzgerald and Riley Treece led defensively with nine digs each.
UNOH will look to snap a four-game losing skid with back-to-back home matches beginning with Madonna on Friday, September 26 followed by UM-Dearborn on Saturday.
