DEARBORN HEIGHTS, MI - UNOH women's soccer opened conference Saturday afternoon with a comfortable 10-0 win over UM-Dearborn.
It took more than a half hour before anyone got on the scoreboard but the Racers rattled off three quick goals in the final twelve minutes to hold a big lead at halftime. Mathilda Berg Karlsson netted first in the 34th minute followed by Rhiannon O'Looney and Ella Beaton-Hill.
The struggles continued into the second half for the Wolverines as an unfortunate own goal made it a 4-0 game just seconds into the frame. It took another 20 minutes before the ball found net again but once it did, the goals began to pour out of the game. Svenja Jorg scored her first of the season in the 66th minute with Camila Rico adding another less than a minute later. Freshman Jenny Grossen earned her first career goal in the 75th minute to make it a 7-0 match.
UNOH continued to pour it on as the time ticked away netting three more times in the final ten minutes of the game. Marie Roman grabbed her first of the season followed by Rhiannon O'Looney for her second career brace. Camila Rico finished off the scoring with a brace of her own scoring in the 88th minute to cap the 10-0 victory.
Karlsson and Beaton-Hill both added an assist to their goal with Roman assisting twice. Celia Catalan Keck also picked up an assist for the first time this season.
