Women's Basketball Sweeps Player of the Week Awards
For the third time this season, UNOH women's basketball has swept the weekly WHAC awards picking up both the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors. Alysia Lawson earned the nod on the offensive side while Sanaiiya Gray picked up the defensive award as the team went 2-0 on the week and improved to 11-2 this season.
Offensive Player of the Week - Alysia Lawson
Lawson earned her third weekly honor of the year and 16th of her career powering the Racer offense to two victories where they scored 97 and 95 points, respectively. Already the all-time leading scorer in the history of UNOH basketball, Lawson added another milestone to her resume topping 2,000 career points in her team's 97-91 win over Midway on Thursday putting up 29 points. She followed that performance with her 14th career 30-point outing against Defiance scoring 31 while also dishing out six assists and swiping four steals as her team ran away from the Yellow Jackets, 95-47.
Lawson's 26.2 points per game this season leads the conference and sits second in the country.
Defensive Player of the Week - Sanaiiya Gray
Gray won the defensive award for the second time in her freshman campaign after nearly averaging a double-double over two wins. She scored a career high 21 points against Midway and logged her second double-double of the year against Defiance scoring ten with 13 rebounds. For the week, Gray gathered 19 total rebounds with 17 on the defensive end to average 9.5 per game while stuffing the opponent six times.
Gray now has 33 total blocks over just eleven games putting her fourth in the country.
UNOH has garnered six of 16 weekly awards in the 2025-26 season which leads the WHAC and is three-times as many as the next closest team (Siena Heights/Defiance - 2).
