GEORGETOWN, KY - UNOH softball won both games Saturday afternoon starting with a 7-5 come-from-behind win over Johnson and finishing with a 14-6 victory over host Georgetown.
Hailee Edgell put the Racers up early in game one with a two run shot in the top of the first, but Johnson scored one in the bottom and four more in the home third to go up 5-2. After giving up five runs on four hits in just three innings, Lanie Wooten settled into the game and took control from the circle holding the Royals to just two more hits over their next four at bats. She also joined the offensive side as UNOH finally got rolling in the top of the sixth with two doubles, one off the bat of Wooten, and a single that scored three and tied the game 5-5.
Edgell stepped up once again for the Racers in the top of the seventh extending the inning with a two-out single and giving her team a chance to win the game in regulation. Junior transfer Kimberly Hernandez delivered on the opportunity ripping the Racers' second two run homer of the game and her first of the season putting UNOH on top for good. Wooten finished strong in the bottom of the inning retiring Johnson in order with three straight ground balls to complete the comback win.
Wooten (2-2) ended the day with five runs allowed, all earned, on six hits with five strikeouts and two walks.

Game two saw UNOH hang a crooked number in their first at bat again but, unlike their first game, managed to keep adding on while fending off a pesky Georgetown team. An early Tiger error proved costly as the Racers strung together three straight singles and scored the first two runs of the game. A second error helped score another and gave UNOH a 3-0 lead after one.
After the teams traded a run in the third, the Racers took advantage of another error with two singles and a sacrifice fly that extended their lead to seven. Georgetown kept hanging around thanks to one in the fifth and three more in the sixth that made it an 8-5 game heading into the final frame.
A lead off double from Hailee Edgell got the inning started and the game quickly spiraled out of control for the Tigers. Another double and two singles made it 12-5 before three walks and a sixth error added the final two UNOH runs. Georgetown fought to get one run back with two outs in the home seventh, but the door closed quickly and the Racers picked up their third consecutive victory.
Karsyn McGlothen (1-1) worked through five and a third innings to earn the win allowing five runs on seven hits with four walks and two strikeouts. Lanie Wooten picked up her second career save with one run on two hits over an inning and a third while striking out two and walking one.
Susan Vokes led the Racers offensively going 5-5 at the plate over the two games with four RBI and a run scored. Hailee Edgell had a monster day of her own going 5-9, including a double and a home run, with three RBI and four runs scored. Lanie Wooten finished 4-6 with four RBI logging two doubles and a sacrifice fly to go along with her win and her save.
Games two and three between UNOH and Georgetown that were originally scheduled for Sunday have been cancelled. The Racers will now head to southern Kentucky for a three game series at Lindsey Wilson beginning with one game Monday, February 24 followed by a double header on Tuesday.
