Men's Soccer Picks Up Six All-Conference Selections - Oliu Named Newcomer of the Year

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced the 2025 men's soccer yearly awards on Wednesday with six Racers earning all-conference honors highlighted by the program's first WHAC Newcomer of the Year since 2019.

The WHAC's Newcomer of the Year went to Raul Oliu who also garned All-WHAC First Team Honors. Three teammates joined Oliu on the first team giving UNOH it's most since 2019 (5). Michel Tentchou, Eguzki Hashimoto and Aimar Lezana all landed the honor for the first time. Leonard K.Assouan and Luka Heins made it six all-conference mentions for the Racers after snagging second team awards.


The 2025 UNOH men's soccer team also garnered an impressive 21 All-Academic honorees more than doubling the program's previous record of ten set in 2017.

All but one of those mentions earned their first academic honor with Devid Sturgis picking up his second. Those making the team for the first time were: Jonah Day, Eric Kjellsson, Niko Suarez, Pablo Archilla, Reece Benjamin, Eguzki Hashimoto, Luka Heins, Jayson Janofski, Calum Loomes, Josh Pearson, Alfie Roffey, Marcos Vidan, Ognjen Stanic, Bainbridge Abitheira, Nolan Blewitt, Alejandro Cortes, Guilherme Bertoni Dias, Giovanni Fraga, Carlos Navarro and Jonathan Rinehart.

Rounding out the awards was Arokya Shrestha who was selected as the team's representative on the WHAC Champions of Character team.
