PALOS HEIGHTS, IL - An early free kick goal was the only shot to hit the target for UNOH Saturday, but it was quality over quantity as the Racers held (RV) Trinity Christian off the board for a 1-0 win in the two programs' first ever meeting.
Just three minutes into the game, UNOH earned a free kick just outside the penalty box thanks to a foul by the Trolls. Raul Oliu took on the keeper bending the ball over the wall and tucking it just inside the near post for an early 1-0 lead. Despite a plethora of chances for both teams, it remained the only goal through 90 minutes of play to give the Racers their second consectuve 1-0 victory.
UNOH outshot Trinity Christian 12-9 but the Trolls put seven of theirs on target to just one for the Racers.
Alexandre Torres (1-0) made his season debut in front of goal with style making seven saves over 90 minutes to preserve the clean sheet.
UNOH will return home for another first-time meeting when they host Missouri Baptist on Wednesday, September 10.
