Men's Soccer Rebounds with Clean Sheet Against (RV) Westcliff

LIMA, OH - After a tough loss to No. 21 Marian on Saturday, UNOH men's soccer got back on track against (RV) Westcliff Monday keeping the Warriors off the board in a 1-0 win.

The Racers controlled the early portions of the first half and earned a penalty kick just twelve minutes into the match. The kick, however, wasn't converted as the Warriors' keeper read it all the way to make an initial save and then a second save off the rebound to keep the game scoreless.

The action went end-to-end through the middle part of the half before a Westcliff foul in the 43rd minute set up a free kick opportunity from about 25 yards out. Aimar Lezana took on the keeper with his left foot tailing the ball around the wall and tucking it just inside the near post for a 1-0 lead. Despite a multitude of chances on both ends, the one goal remained the only goal as UNOH held the lead through the final horn.

In his first start of the year, Ross Synnott (1-0) earned the team's first clean sheet of the season making six saves in front of goal over the 90 minutes.

UNOH will be off until Saturday when they take a trip to south Chicago for a first time meeting with Trinity Christian.
