Racers Fall to Nation's Top Team in NAIA Tournament
MOBILE, AL - UNOH women's tennis faced an uphill battle against the top team in the country in the Second Round of the NAIA National Championship Wednesday morning. The No. 16 Racers didn't have enough to overcome No. 1 Keiser falling 4-0 to end the 2024-25 season.
The Hawks took the first point winning doubles one and two before finishing off the match with wins in first, third and fifth line singles.
Munisa Ashurbekova and Ekaterina fell 0-6 in first doubles with Agathe Vaillant and Telma Herreros coming closest to winning a matchup with a 4-6 loss in the second line. Melissa Jangarasheva and Margarita Tatur trailed 2-5 in line three when the first point was clinched.
Ashurbekova lost first singles 0-6, 2-6, Vaillant fell 1-6, 2-6 in the third line and Herreros lost 0-6, 0-6 at fifth. Orlova, Jangarasheva and Tatur all went unfinished in second, fourth and sixth lines, respectively.
