Herreros Earns First Player of the Week Honor
For the first time this season, Northwestern Ohio's Telma Herreros has been named the WHAC Player of the Week after a perfect 6-0 week that helped her Racers pick up three wins.
The week started with a tight 4-3 win over No. 24 Indiana Wesleyan at the Doc Richards Invitational on Wednesday, April 2. Herreros was a instrumental in the win defeating her second line doubles opponents 6-3 with teammate Agathe Vaillant before taking care of No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-1. She then helped her team stay unbeaten in conference play with a dominating 7-0 win at Cornerstone on Thursday. Herreros had no issues in No. 2 doubles winning 6-2 with Vaillant again before making quick work of her fifth line singles 6-1, 6-0. She capped her week with two more wins against Lewis-Clark State in a 5-2 team win on Friday. Herreros took second doubles 6-4 with a clean sweep over her No. 5 singles opponent 6-0, 6-0.
