Ripolles Named WHAC Player of the Week Again
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has named Northwestern Ohio's Alizee Ripolles Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks.
After becoming the first Racer since 2016, and just the second ever, to win the women's singles tournament at the ITA Midwest Regional two weeks ago, Ripolles opened the ITA cup last week with a massive upset of No. 3 Iryna Lysykh of seven-time defending national champs Georgia Gwinnett in the round of 16 (3-6, 6-3, 6-0). She was eliminated from the tournament in the quarterfinals and finished 8th in country after falling in the 5th place bracket (3-6, 2-6). Ripolles becomes the second best finisher in program history.
