Karlsson and McIntosh Named Players of the Year - Nine Racers Earn All-WHAC Honors

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has released the 2025 women's soccer season honors highlighted by eight Racers earning all-conference awards and both the offensive and defensive players of the year going to UNOH.

Six Racers landed on the WHAC's first team, the program's second most ever in a season and most since 2017 (9), with two picking up second team honors.

It is the first time since 2019 that UNOH has taken both players of the year in the same season and the fifth time in program history.

The offensive award was given to Mathilda Berg Karlsson who led the conference in goals, assists and points this season. The defensive honor went to Judy McIntosh who anchored a back line that allowed just eleven goals in 17 matches with a league best nine regular season shutouts.

Both Karlsson and McIntosh also added First Team All-WHAC and All-Academic honors for the first time in their careers. Karlsson was Second Team All-WHAC last season while McIntosh was named to the WHAC All-Newcomer team.

Joining them on the First Team was Vivian Purmonen, Risa Nishida, Celia Catalan Keck and Sophia Eisner. It is Eisner's second First Team selection and Purmonen's third all-conference award after picking up second team honors the last two years.

Freshman Ella Beaton-Hill and senior Kristine Mehlbye were both named to the second team with transfer Camila Rico making it nine All-WHAC mentions for UNOH earning a spot on the All-Newcomer team.

Thirteen different Racers were honored on the All-Academic Team with nine earning it for the first time, three for a second time, and one for a third time.

Allyson Barger became just the second player in program history to earn the honor for a third time in her career with Sophia Eisner, Rhiannon O'Looney and Vivian Purmonen earning their second. Making the team for the first time were: Celia Catalan Keck, Alivia Chambers, Silje Eikeland, Mathilda Berg Karlsson, Judy McIntosh, Kristine Mehlbye, Katie West, Kathryn Haas and Ewelina Johansson Maahl.

Rounding out the conference awards was freshman Ella Betschon who was named the UNOH representative on the WHAC's Champions of Character team.
