MARION, IN - UNOH women's soccer came up just short Wednesday night at No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan giving up a late first half goal that proved decisive and handed the Wildcats a 1-0 win.
The first 45 belonged to Indiana Wesleyan as they controlled the match on both ends getting off five shots and holding UNOH without an official attempt. The Racers were able to hold off the Wildcat attacks until the 34th minute when a ball cleared out of the box landed right at the feet of an attacker and was finished from distance into the top corner. Both teams missed opportunities in the second half but the first goal remained the only goal as IWU held on to take a 1-0 victory.
The Wildcats outshot UNOH 11-4 in the game and 6-2 on goal earning nine cornerkick opportunities to just two for the Racers.
Sophia Eisner (1-1) worked the full 90 in front of goal making four saves to hold Indiana Wesleyan to just one goal.
UNOH will be off until Labor Day, September 1, when they travel to Elgin, Ill. for a neutral site matchup against St. Thomas hosted by Judson University.
