Queralt Earns WHAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

Northwestern Ohio's Mireia Queralt is quietly putting together an impressive campaign in front of goal after being thrust into the starting role due to injury. Queralt hasn't given up a goal in three straight matches and the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has voted her Defensive Player of the Week after 180 minutes of goalless work last week.

The Racers haven't lost a match in two weeks thanks, in no small part, to Queralt in front of goal. She was only needed three times against Indiana Tech last Wendesday but kept the board clean in a 2-0 win over the Warriors. Then, in what was unquestionable the strongest performance of her career, Queralt made five saves for her third straight clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against unbeaten No. 4 Aquinas earning the program's first result against a top five opponent since 2019. 

Queralt is now 4-1-2 this season with four shutouts earning a .759 save percentage making an average of 2.75 saves per game.
