Racers Take Second at WHAC Fall Preview

AUGUSTA, MI - UNOH women's golf shot their two lowest rounds of the season at the WHAC Fall Preview Monday and Tuesday finishing second in the twelve-team field.

The Racers put together their lowest round of the fall to open the tournament shooting a 319 followed up by a 330 to sit second after day one. UNOH then topped that lowest round to end the event carding a 318 to finish with 967 as a team clearing second place by 31 strokes.

Kudzai Mandava led the team and earned a top five for the third time in three events this fall finishing fourth in the field of 61. She carded a 76 and 81 on day one finishing with a 2-over 74 in round three, matching her career best, for a new personal record of 231 in a 54-hole event. Luise Pekoll earned her second top ten shooting a career best 77 in rounds one and three with a round of 83 in the middle for a 237 tournament score and sixth-place finish. Molly Douglas continued her impressive freshman campaign with her third top ten finish in three events this fall. Douglas carded rounds of 80, 81 and 78 to finish in eighth place with a 239.

Kayla Watkins and Riley Daeger rounded out the team scoring with a 260 and 292, respectively. Watkins shot 86, 85 and 89 while Daeger hit 96, 103 and 93.

 

UNOH will conclude their fall schedule next Thursday and Friday at the Indiana Tech Intercollegiate played at Riverbend Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Ind.
