UNOH Women's Golf Tops Field at Maggie Mountain

PRESTONSBURG, KY - In their second event of the fall, UNOH women's golf came out runaway winners at the Maggie Mountain Invitational. The Racers led by just twelve strokes after day one shooting 323 as a team, but a big day two saw them shave eight strokes to card 315 while pulling away from the field by 42 to finish at 638 in the tournament.

Kudzai Mandava led after day one matching her career best 18-hole score with a 4-over 74, but she was the only Racer to lose ground in round two carding a 79 and dropping into second place. Her tournament score of 153 still marks a career record over 36 holes giving her two runner-up finishes in two events this fall by a combined four strokes.

Freshman Molly Douglas earned her first career top five after rounds of 82 and 77 putting her in fourth with a 159. Fellow freshman Luise Pekoll finished two strokes back in sixth for her first career top ten with scores of 83 and 78. Kayla Watkins was two spots back in eighth carding rounds of 84 and 81 for a 165 and Riley Daeger rounded out the team scoring shooting 99 and 95.

UNOH will have a long break before they get back to work with the only conference event of the fall. The WHAC Fall Preview is schedule to take place September 29-30 at Stonehedge North Golf Course in Augusta, Michigan.
