Women's Golf Opens Season with Third-Place Finish at LTU Kickoff

BOYNE FALLS, MI - UNOH women's golf began their fall portion of the season with a third-place result at the weather-shortened LTU Collegiate Kickoff on Monday and Tuesday. 

The Racers sat in second place after Monday carding a 326 as a team, but St. Mary-Woods fired off a 322 on day two to jump UNOH who shot 341 giving them a final 667 for the tournament.

Kudzai Mandava led the team with the best finish of her career. She shot 77 and 80 for a 157 and a second place finish, just three strokes off the leader. In her first event with UNOH, freshman Molly Douglas bagged a top ten finish after matching rounds of 81. Douglas ended in a tie for seventh with a 162 total. Fellow freshman Luise Pekoll sat tied for twelveth carding rounds of 84 and 86 for a 170 total.

The Racers' team scoring was rounded out by Kayla Watkins and Riley Daeger who shot 178 and 205, respectively.

UNOH will take to the links again in just five days when they head to Stonecrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg, Ky. for the Alice Lloyd Fall Invitational September 8-9.
