Women's Golf Pegged to Finish Second in WHAC Poll
The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has released the 2025-26 Women's Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll with UNOH predicted to finish second. Last year's conference champion Lawrence Tech was the unanimous No. 1 garnering 144 points and all twelve first place votes. The Racers earned 125 points to finish in front of Cleary (113), Indiana Tech (97) and Siena Heights (89) who round out the top five.
After seeing their streak of six-straight WHAC titles snapped last season, UNOH will be under new leadership for the 2025-26 campaign with Phil Gunder taking over the helm. The Racers finished second last year but also managed to shoot two of the three lowest rounds of the 54-hole WHAC Tournament behind senior leader Sharifah Binyahya.
UNOH will return Kayla Watkins, who earned all-conference honors in the 2023-24 season and earned a top ten finish last spring, as well as Kudzai Mandava who placed fourth at the WHAC Championship in 2025. They will be joined by two highly touted newcomers in Molly Douglas and Luise Pekoll with Riley Daeger also returning.
The season will begin at the LTU Collegiate Kickoff scheduled to take place September 2-3 at the Boyne Mountain Resort in Michigan. The only conference event of the fall will take place September 29-30 at Stonehedge North Golf Course in Augusta, Mich.
