Women's Golf Places Second, Nordin Wins Second Individual Title
COLUMBIA, KY - UNOH women's golf posted a tournament low 304 in the first round of the Blue Raider Classic following with a 308 and 317 in rounds two and three, respectively. Host Lindsey Wilson used a day two push to overtake the Racers and win the team title. The Racers posted a 929 total for the 54-hole tournament finishing four strokes behind the No. 19 Blue Raiders.
Ebba Nordin topped the Racers and the 32-player field for her second individual title in as many tournaments this fall. Nordin carded 74, 73 and 78 for a career best 225 (+9), one stroke better than the field. Sharifah Binyahya finished a tie for sixth place after rounds of 75, 77 and 79 for a 231 (+15). Primross Chikwaya also picked up a top ten finish, placing right behind Binyahya, with a 232 (+16). Chikwaya shot a 76 in round one, 77 in round two and wrapped up with a 79 in round three. Rafaella Brigante and Kayla Watkins rounded out the team scoring for UNOH falling in at 14 and 16, respectively. Brigante went 80-81-81 (242) and Watkins shot 79-83-81 (243).
The Racers will play in the solo conference event of the fall in their next event. The WHAC Fall Preview will take place October 2-3 at Stonehedge North Golf Course in Augusta, Michigan. The tournament will feature one round of stroke play to determine seeding for two rounds of match play.
