Nordin Claims Individual Title, Racers Hoist Players Club Trophy
YORKTOWN, IN - Northwestern Ohio women's golf began their trek towards a sixth straight league championship with a team title at The Players Club Invitational. The Racers shot 303 in round one and 315 in round two to edge out second place #13 Taylor by one stroke in a field that also included #9 MIlligan, #10 Indiana Wesleyan and NCAA Division I Ball State.
Ebba Nordin led the way with scores of 70 and 75 to tie at the top with a 145 (+1). Nordin took the individual medal after winning on the second playoff hole. Sharifah Binyahya picked up a top ten finish carding 79 adn 75 for a 154 (+10).
Rafaella Brigante finished in the top 20 shooting 77-82=159 (+15) and Primross Chikwaya tied for 22nd with a round one 77 and round two 83 in her first collegiate tournament with the Racers. Kayla Watkins rounded out the team scoring for UNOH with a 168 (+24) after rounds of 83 and 85.
UNOH heads south for their next fall tournament in Nashville Tennessee. The Phoenix Invitational will be played September 11-12 at Tennessee Pine Creek Golf Club.
