Bio

Tom Litman is currently in his eighth year coaching and his second year at UNOH. Litman spent his first three years coaching middle school girls basketball. He coached two years of seventh grade basketball and one year of eighth grade basketball while he was earning his Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Akron. 

After graduating, Coach Litman stayed at the University of Akron as a Graduate Assistant in the Statistics program. During that time he worked as a Girls Varsity Assistant Coach at Massillon Perry High School. In his two years of coaching at the high school level, Tom helped send two players to Ohio Wesleyan University and one player to 2023 DII National Champion Ashland University. He graduated with a Masters in Statistics in a year and a half with a 3.93 GPA.

After graduating, Litman then accepted a job as the Assistant Coach at NJCAA D1 North Dakota State College of Science. He helped the Wildcats to a 30-5 record which is tied for the most wins in school history. The Cats made it to the National Tournament as the #21 seed and defeated #12 Eastern Arizona 72-66 to earn the first National Tournament win and first Sweet Sixteen appearance in program history! Tom helped three players earn full scholarships. Two went to DI Universities: North Dakota State and Eastern Illinois, and one moved on to DII West Virginia Wesleyan. He now looks to help build a sustainably competitive program in the WHAC.
