Wooten Tabbed WHAC Pitcher of the Week
For the first time this season, a Northwestern Ohio softball pitcher has been named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Pitcher of the Week the league announced Monday.
Sophomore Lanie Wooten earned her second career weekly honor after going 2-1 last week and picking up her second save of the year. Her week was highlighted by a complete game shutout versus Lawrence Tech on Saturday where she scattered five hits and helped her team to a 5-0 victory. She was called on twice against Rochester Christian Sunday recording her second complete game win of the week in game one followed by her third career save in game two as the Racers swept the Warriors for a fifth straight year, 8-3 and 10-4. Over 24.2 innings, Wooten allowed just four earned runs with only one coming in conference pay for a 1.14 weekly ERA.
