Sommer Mayo comes to UNOH from John F. Kennedy H.S.

Dec. 14, 2009

Sommer Mayo signed an NAIA National Letter of Intent on November 19, 2009 to continue her athletic and academic careers at the University of Northwestern Ohio in the Fall of 2010.

Sommer is a 5'11" senior from John F. Kennedy High School in Taylor, Michigan. Mayo is a middle blocker and received All-League honors in the Downriver League in just her first season as an Eagle. She played for Coach Chris Nedzlek.

Sommer is the daughter of Tammy Mayo and plans to major in Forensic Accounting while attending UNOH.

Coach Kitchen stated about Sommer, "I am very excited to have Sommer in the Racer volleyball family. She is very new to the game, but is an outstanding athlete and her potential for growth is limitless. I love her enthusiasm and willingness to learn about the game and whatever it takes to play at the next level. I expect that once Sommer becomes accustomed to the life of an intercollegiate athlete, her game will progress beyond measure."
