Nov. 13, 2008

In their first season as a program, and as a member of the American Mideast Conference, the UNOH Racers Volleyball team has qualified for postseason play. The Racers finished with a 9-5 record in conference play, which was good enough for 6th place out of 15 teams.

Regular season runner-up and #1 seed Shawnee State University is set to host the American Mideast Conference Women's Volleyball Tournament. The Bears will welcome five other schools on Nov. 14-15 with the winner earning the league's second automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship.

In Friday's first round, the #5 UNOH Racers will face #4 seed Cedarville at 1 p.m. That match will be followed by #3 Mount Vernon Nazarene against #6 Malone at 3 p.m.

Saturday's first semifinal at 9 a.m. features the UNOH/Cedarville winner taking on host Shawnee State. The Mount Vernon Nazarene/Malone winner meets #2 seed Ohio Dominican at 11 a.m. Semifinal winners meet in the championship match at 6:30 p.m.

The AMC is given two automatic bids to the NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship. Regular season champion Walsh already secured the first bid.
