The UNOH Racers held their Spring Signing Day on Monday, May 18th inside Racer Gymnasium. The UNOH Women's Volleyball Team welcomed three new members to their team. Jessica Girod, Danielle Rist, and Katie Luebke all signed their Letter of Intents and will be on campus in the fall. The following is information about each of the signees: HEIGHT – 5’10 POSITION – Middle Blocker (MB) CLASS – Junior INTENDED MAJOR – Business Administration HOMETOWN – Sidney, OH HIGH SCHOOL – Houston HS ‘06 COLLEGE – Edison State CC CLUB – Team Atlantis VBC and Western Ohio VC COLLEGE Edison State CC – Helped lead the program in its first two seasons to back-to-back NJCAA National Championships. The Chargers finished runner-up in 2006 and fourth place in ‘07. She was a two-time team MVP (06-07). Her numerous post-season awards included: First team All-OCCAC (07), Region XII and Region XX Tournament MVP (07), Region XII All-Tournament Team twice (06-07), NJCAA National Championship All-Tournament team twice (06-07). She was a 2007 Pre-Season All-American and was named 1st Team All-American at the conclusion of the 2007 season. In 2006 she finished the season ranked in the top 20 nationally in Kills per game and Hitting Efficiency. In 2007 she ended the season ranked nationally in Blocks per game (17th), Hitting Efficiency (7th), and led the nation in Kills per game. HIGH SCHOOL Houston HS – Jessica was a two-time team MVP, and holds school records for Kills/Season, Digs/Season, and Service Points/Game. She was a four-time All-SCL selection (02-05), All-District twice (04-05), and a two-time All-Ohioan (04-05). Danielle Rist HEIGHT - 6'2 POSITION - Middle Blocker (MB) CLASS - Freshman INTENDED MAJOR - Business Administration HOMETOWN - Oregon, OH HIGH SCHOOL - Clay HS '09 CLUB - Toledo SJVC HIGH SCHOOL - Helped lead Clay HS to its best season in recent history. Was named team MVP her senior season. Katie Luebke HEIGHT - 6'2 POSITION - Outside Hitter (OH) CLASS - Junior MAJOR - Marketing HOMETOWN - Bellefontaine, OH HIGH SCHOOL - Bellefontaine '07 COLLEGE - Tusculum CLUB - Dayton Juniors COLLEGE Tusculum - She is a two time All-South Athletic Conference selection. In 2007, she was named to the All-SAC Second team and All-SAC Freshman team. In 2008, she was selected as an All-SAC preseason choice, and finished the season garnering First team honors. HIGH SCHOOL Bellefontaine HS - earned All-Ohio honors and District 9 Player of the Year in 2006. |
