Kepford Signs Letter Of Intent To Be Two Sport Athlete

Kepford becomes first female athlete to play both basketball and volleyball

April 11, 2008

The University of Northwestern Ohio held their Spring Signing Day on Wednesday, April 9th inside Racer Gymnasium. Head Coach Rick Bowersock and Head Coach Kevin Kitchen, of the University of Northwestern Ohio Women's Basketball and Volleyball teams, have announced the signing of Kaylee Kepford, from Marion Harding High School. Coach Bowersock also stated that Kepford will be the first female athlete to participate in both basketball and volleyball.

Kepford has received many honors in both basketball and volleyball. In volleyball, she has been an All-Conference performer for three years including two times on 1st team. Kepford was also selected to the District 6 first team for two years, and was selected to the Northwest District 1st team her senior season.

"Kaylee is an outstanding athlete, with great size and speed," said Coach Kitchen. "She will undoubtedly help us in the front row from a blocking standpoint and give us a variety of attacking options offensively."

As for basketball, she was selected as a two-time 2nd team All-Conference, District 6 second team, and was a Northwest District honorable mention.

"Kaylee is an unbelievable athlete that will help us in our transition game as she can get from one end of the court to the other from the post position in a hurry," Coach Bowersock said.

After signing her letter of intent on Wednesday afternoon, Kepford will be on campus in the fall of 2008 as a member of the University of Northwestern Ohio Women's Basketball and Volleyball teams.
