The Racers Volleyball team took part in the first postseason play for any sport in UNOH Racer history. The Racers qualified for the #5 seed in the AMC tournament for a birth to the NAIA National Tournament. The Racers were matched up against Cedarville, who they beat earlier in the season. Cedarville dominated the 5th set to down the Racers 3-2 to end their first season as a program. The Racers fell in a close first set 25-23, then would go on to crush the Yellow Jackets in the second set 25-13. Then the Jackets would return the favor in the third by a score of 25-17. The Racers would win the 4th set 25-22, before falling 15-8 in the 5th and final set. Leading the way for the Racers was Freshman Amanda Francis with 13 kills and 18 digs. Sophomore Roshelle Watercutter and Freshman Kaylee Kepford each had 10 kills. Watercutter also had 12 digs in the match. Freshman Kelly Oldiges had 15 digs as well. Freshman Debbie Brubaker had 38 assists on the match along with 14 digs. The Racers will close the season at 26-11. The Racers will look to improve on their first season next year as they will lose no players to graduation. |
