The UNOH Lady Racers Tennis Team played host to Defiance College on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Racers made quick work of the Yellow Jackets as they won all matches to win the match 9-0. In doubles play, the Lady Racers won all three matches by scores of 8-1. Junior Jamie Hilborn and Freshman Shaye Warman won at the #1, Junior Erynn Piper and Freshman Mariah Smith won at the #2, and Juniors Carling Barrett and Amy Shilling won at the #3. In singles play, Jamie Hilborn at the #1, Shaye Warman at the #2, Senior Ashley Carmack at the #3, and Sophomore Tara Carr at the #5 all won by scores of 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Jessie Stambaugh won 6-0, 6-2 at the #4 and Freshman Katie Whittington win 6-1, 6-0 at the #6. The Racers move to 1-2 on the Fall season with the win. They will be back in action with ITA Regionals beginning on September 17th, They will then play host to Ohio Northern University on September 26th on the campus of UNOH. |
