The University of Northwestern Ohio Women's Tennis team served up their season on Wednesday afternoon. The Lady Racers faced Taylor University for their first match ever on the newly constructed tennis courts on the campus of UNOH. The Lady Racers fell short in the match as they fell to Taylor 7-2. The Lady Racers were could only manage two victories in singles play to start the match. Freshman Shaye Warman won 7-5, 7-5 playing at the #2. Freshman Jessie Stambaugh won 6-1, 6-4 playing at the #5. The Lady Racers needed to win all 3 doubles matches to come away with a victory. UNOH was swept in doubles play to bring the final total to 7-2, giving the Lady Racers a 0-1 record to start the season. The Lady Racers will be back in action this weekend at the Depauw Invitational as they will play on Saturday and Sunday. |
