Terry Hilborn is entering hissecond season as the head men's and women's tennis coach at University of Northwestern Ohio. In his first campaign at UNOH, Hilborn led the Men's Tennis squad to a 7-12 record in the 07-08 season. The men's team defeated American Mideast Conference Rival, Notre Dame College. They also traveled to Hilton Head Island early in the spring where they went 2-3 on the trip. The women's team finished 4-14 in the first season. The women also traveled to Hilton Head and were unable to grab a victory while being there. The Lady Racers finished the season strong as they won their last 3 matches of the season. Hilborn was previously the assistant men's and women's tennis coach at Elida High School for six seasons and head coach at Bath High School for five years. While assisting at Elida the boys's (2005) tennis team earned their first trip to the state final four. His son, Jayson and his partner won the doubles state championship in 2005. Jayson also partnered with Jason Sarno (Current UNOH player) in 2004 and they earned 2nd Team All-Ohio honors. In 2002 Michael Sarno (Current UNOH Asst. Coach) qualified for state with his partner in doubles. The boy's tennis team also won the league championship four out of the six seasons he was an assistant at Elida. His daughter, Jamie (Current UNOH player) was a two-time singles state qualifier. The girl's team won the league championship the last two years of his six year stint as an assistant at Elida and earned their first ever trip to the state final four in 2006. He received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Muskingum College. Hilborn is married to Trudy and they have two children, Jamie and Jayson. |
