The Lady Racer golf team took part in the Pat Clouse Invitational over the weekend in Springfield, OH. The event was held by Wittenberg University. With a field of 16 teams, the Lady Racers got a record performance by Senior Erin Winings to finish 9th at the event. Erin Winings opening round of 77 shattered the previous record held by 3 current Lady Racers. The previous record was an 82 held by Winings, Sophomore Christy Brinkman and Sophomore Melisaa Finch. After Winings, Melissa Finch entered the clubhouse with a 90. The rest of the Lady Racers were right behind as Senior Vanessa Herbert shot a 92, Junior Hollie Johnston shot a 93, and Sophomore Christy Brinkman shot a 95. On Day 2 for the Lady Racers, Melissa Finch was the top Racer with an 86, and right behind was Erin Winings with an 87. Christy Brinkman shot a 92 on the day, Vanessa Herbert shot a 96, and Hollie Johnston shot a 99. For the event, Erin Winings finished with a 164, which put her T-13th place overall. Melissa Finch shot a 176, which was good enough for T-33rd. Christy Brinkman shot a 157 and finished T-51st. Vanessa Herbert shot a total of 188 to finish T-53rd and Hollie Jonhston finished with a 192 and T-62nd. The Racers fall season has come to an end, but will pick up in the spring as they will look to contend for the AMC title. |
