The Lady Racers Golf Team traveled to North Canton, OH on Monday and Tuesday to play in the Walsh University Fall Clasic. The Lady Racers were in 5th after the first day, and finished in 5th after Day 2. On Day 1, Sophomore Christy Brinkman was the leader in the clubhouse for the Lady Racers with an 88. Sophomore Melissa Finch fired a 90 to help in the effort. Seniors Erin Winings and Vanessa Herbert each fired 92's. Junior Hollie Johnston shot a 99 on the day. Playing as an individual, Junior Rachael Cox shot a 108. As a team score, the Lady Racers were in the clubhouse with a 362. On Day 2, Melissa Finch shot an 84 to lead the Lady Racers. Erin Winings shot an 88 to improve her overall finish. Vanessa Herbert shot an 89 on Day 2 to improve the Racers team score on Day 2. Christy Brinkman fired a 92 to round out the team scores on the day. Hollie Johnston shot a 101 and Rachael Cox shot a 107. Melissa Finch shot an event total of 174 to finish T-14th overall. Christy Brinkman and Erin Winings each finished at 180 putting them T-18th place. Vanessa Herbert was right behind with a 181 to finish T-22nd. Hollie Johnston finished with a 200, which put her in 41st place. Rachael Cox's 215 placed her in 46th overall. The Lady Racers will be back in action on September 21st, where they will play in the Defiance College Invitational, a one-day event. |
