Lady Golfers Finish 4th At Racer Invitational

The Lady Racers closed out their first event on Saturday afternoon at Hawthorne Hills G.C. UNOH was in 3rd place after Day 1, but couldn't improve on their round and fell to 4th place out of 6 teams for the event. Walsh University won the first ever Racer Invitational.

After firing an 80, a UNOH 18-hole record, on Friday afternoon, Sophomore Christy Brinkman shot an 84, which gave her a two day total of 164 for 6th place overall. Senior Erin Winings also shot an 84 to give her a two day total of 171, to sit in 14th overall. Junior Hollie Johnston shot an 92, and Senior Vanessa Herbert fired a 93 to give them both a two day total of 181. Sophomore Melissa Finch couldn't find the stroke on Day 2 and shot a 95, to give her a two day total of 182.

Competing as individuals, Junior Rachael Cox shot a 109, Freshman Jessica May shot a 122, and Junior Brittany Neeley shot a 142.

Kim Smith from Walsh was medalist with a two day total of 151. Teammates Nikki Kulasa and Katie Kohut also made the All-Invite team with 158's. St. Francis had two lady golfers on the team as well with Lindsey Eaton and Hilary Bowman who had scores of 160 and 163.

The Lady Racers will get right back in action on Monday morning as they will play at the St. Francis Fall Invitational in Ft. Wayne, IN. Shotgun start is set for 9:00 AM.
