The Lady Racers of UNOH opened their fall season at the University of St. Francis Invitational. The Racers fired their team and school best record of 725 for the two day event. The Racers opened with a school record 364, only to outperform themselves on day two with a 361. The Racers, playing for the first time this fall, quickly utilized their incoming Freshman Christy Brinkman and Melissa Finch. With Brinkman playing at the No. 1 spot, she fired a third overall opening round of 83. Finch playing at the No. 3 spot, shot a team second 89. Erin Winings was right behind Finch with a 90. Rounding out the scoring for UNOH was Vanessa Herbert who shot a 102, and Hollie Johnston who shot a 105. UNOH then opened up the second day of the two day event getting solid play from Erin Winings who shot an 83. Christy Brinkman finished 2nd for the Racers as she fired an 89. Melissa Finch remained consistent with a 92. Hollie Johnston and Vanessa Herbert improved from their round one performances with a 97 and 98. For the two day event, Christy Brinkman led the Racers with a 172, good enough to finish tied for sixth. Erin Winings regrouped on day two to finish tied for 9th with a 173. Freshman Melissa Finch had a strong showing in her first collegiate match with a 181. Vanessa Herbert ended her two day event with a total of 200 and Hollie Johnston was right behind her with a 202. The Racers will be back in action on September 12-13 as they will travel to Marshall, MI to take part in the Olivet College Fall Invitational. |
