LADY RACERS BEGIN NEW ERA

Nov. 4, 2007

The Lady Racers basketball team will begin a new era on the campus of The University of Northwestern Ohio starting this season. The Lady Racers will begin their first season under the leadership of Head Coach Rick Bowersock and Assistant Coach Krystal Sensabaugh. Experience will be the concern throughout their first campaign as the Racers will compete with 10 freshmen, 1 sophomore, and 3 juniors. The upperclassmen will look to supply the leadership as all 4 upperclassmen are transfers with collegiate experience.

The Lady Racers will tip-off their season on the road at the Huntington University Tournament as they will face the host school, Huntington University, at 6:00 PM on November 9th. The Racers will conclude their opening weekend by playing either Wilberforce University or Trinity Christian on Saturday afternoon, depending on the outcomes. The women will continue their season on the road at Walsh University on November 13th. The Lady Racers will make their first appearance at home on November 20th as they face Urbana University at 5:00 PM.

Although the UNOH Racers are not full members of the American Mideast Conference until the 2008-2009, the Lady Racers will play 10 games against AMC opponents. The Racers will use these games to establish their presence amongst fellow AMC teams. The Racers are also not eligible for postseason play in the AMC or the NAIA. Beginning in 2008-2009, the Racers will be able to compete for all postseason appearances and honors.
