Northwestern Ohio guard Amanda Francis is the American Mideast Conference Player of the Week in women's basketball for games played on Feb. 16-22. Francis, a 5-foot-9 freshman from Sidney, Ohio, averaged 24.5 points and seven rebounds in two victories for UNOH, 17-12 and 10-5 AMC. The Racers won seven-of-eight games to complete the regular season and earn the #4 seed in the AMC Tournament. Francis totaled 29 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists in an 86-78 win versus Wilberforce. She added 20 points and four boards during a 95-81 victory over NAIA Division II No. 23 Walsh. For the week, Francis shot 54 percent from the field overall which included a 5-for-8 three-point shooting display for 62.5 percent. She converted 18-of-19 free throws for 95 percent. Francis also contributed one steal and one blocked shot.
