The Lady Racers made another road trip on Friday night as they traveled to Spalding University. With a 13 day layoff, the Lady Racers came out firing and didn't show any signs of the break. With a battle throughout the game, the Lady Racers came up short with a final of 65-53. With the tip taking place at 6:00 PM, the Lady Racers came out with a quick 11-7 lead in the game. The rest of the first half saw each team take leads and give them back. UNOH took their largest lead of the evening of 5 at 30-25 with 4:00 minutes left in the first half. Spalding would hit a jumper as time expired to shorten the UNOH lead to 35-33 at the break. The Lady Racers started off slow the second half as the Racers only scored 3 points in the first 10 minutes of the half and went behind 48-38. After the Lady Racers added two more points, Spalding continued their run and started the first 12 minutes of the second half with a 22-5 run to take their largest lead at 55-40. UNOH would cut it to 7 under 4:00 minutes remaining in the game, but the Golden Eagles finished the game out and achieved victory with a final of 65-53. Leading the way for the Lady Racers was Andrea Meyer with 12 points. Abbie Clifton grabbed 12 rebounds to go along with her 8 points. Alexa Kennedy dished out 7 assists to go along with her 9 points. Spalding was led by Shae Mercer with her 16 points and Brianne Miles with 14 points. The loss moves the Racers to 2-7 on the season. The Lady Racers will be back in action Saturday, December 22nd at 1:00 PM as the will face Indiana University Southeast. |
