The Lady Racers traveled to Midway, Kentucky on Saturday afternoon looking to take the season series from the Midway College Eagles. The game took an extra period of overtime, but the Lady Racers drained a three pointer with :04 seconds left in overtime to win 81-78. In their previous meeting, the Lady Racers used record performances by Abbie Clifton and Krissy Koester to dominate the Eagles 87-70 at Racer Gymnasium. This meeting had a different setting as the Lady Racers put 5 players into double figures for the first time this season. With the game set for overtime with the score 72-72, the Lady Racers got off to a quick start in overtime as Jenna Blackburn drained a three pointer to push the Lady Racers ahead. With the game tied under a minute to go, Kelly Warris sunk a three that deflated the host Eagles with :04 seconds remaining. The Eagles made a valiant effort to tie, but came up short. Leading the way for the Racers was Krissy Koester with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Stacy Feathers came off the bench to provide 14 points. Abbie Clifton totaled 13 points and 5 rebounds.Jenna Blackburn also came off the bench to help in the effort with 12 points. Rounding out the double figure scoring was Kelly Warris with 11 points. Currently the Lady Racers record stands at 7-20 with one final game remaining against St. Francis. With the loss, the Midway Eagles fall to 19-7, with two of the seven losses coming from the Lady Racers. The Lady Racers will play Friday night at 7:30 against St. Francis at Racer Gymnasium. It is the final game to be played at UNOH this season! |
