Koester recorded 26 points and 17 rebounds

Feb. 7, 2008

Final Stats

The Lady Racers traveled through rain and snow to get their fifth victory this season, including their second over Marygrove College to bring their record to 5-18. The Lady Racers used a strong second half to pull away from the Mustangs by a final of 73-58.

Both teams came out of the gates fast and looked to get the ball up-and-down the court in an uptempo style. The Racers created enough second-chance opportunities to take a comfortable 27-18 lead halfway through the first half. From there the Mustangs could only bring the game a little closer as the first half came to a close and saw themselves only down seven, 38-31.

The second half would start much like the first half ended, with a burst from the Lady Mustangs to cut the deficit. The Mustangs set the tone defensively to start the second half and turned the intensity up a notch to create multiple Racer turnovers. They would eventually cut the lead to a slim three points, only to see that evaporate due to another large run put on by the Racers.

The Lady Racers would eventually pull away by a final of 73-58. The Lady Racers got a career performance by Krissy Koester as she totaled 26 points and grabbed an UNOH school record 17 rebounds, with 16 of them being defensive, despite only playing 25 minutes of the contest. Molly French also recorded a career day as she reached double figures with 12 points. Alexa Kennedy dished out 6 assists in the win.

The Lady Racers move to 5-18 on the season and will be back in action Friday, February 8th as they host Indiana University Southeast with a tip set for 6:00 pm.
