The UNOH Racers competed in their first season as AMC members and quickly looked to compete in 2008-09. The Racers finished 14-6 on the regular season, and went 4-2 in AMC play. The Racers 4-2 finish made them the #3 seed in the three team AMC tournament. The Racers defeated Roberts Wesleyan, Cedarville, Notre Dame, and Walsh. They were downed by Malone and Ohio Dominican. In doubles play, Freshman Jeff Brown and Freshman Juan Cardenas teamed up at the #1 as Brown finished 15-5 and Cardenas finished 13-4. At the #2 position, Sophomore Bryan Wright finished 10-5 while Sophomore Jason Sarno finished 10-7. At the #3 position, Sophomore Chris Cash finished 13-3, while Sophomore Troy Schroeder finished 7-2. In singles play, Jeff Brown competed at the #1 for the Racers and finished 13-7. At the #2 position, Juan Cardenas finished at 6-10. Jason Sarno competed at the #3 and finished 8-4. Sophomore Evan Carr competed at both the #3 and #4 and finished 5-3 at the third position, and finished 11-1 at the fourth position. Chris Cash finished 8-3 at the #5 position. Troy Schroeder finished 11-2 at the #6 position. In their first season in the AMC, the Racers finished 3rd in the conference, and will now face Ohio Dominican in the first round of the AMC tournament. The match will be held on Thursday, April 30th at 9:00 am. The match will be at Cedarville University. |
