Sept. 28, 2008 The University of Northwestern Ohio Racers traveled to the Capital Fall Invitational on Saturday. The Racers played 27 holes on the afternoon, something that they haven't done much in the past. The Racers got solid play and finished one stroke back of third with a 472. On the first 18 holes, the Racers were led by Daniel Rex and his 75. Jason Klaus also stayed in the 70's with a 78. Brian Bowker, Joe Rodriguez, and Scott Kayser went in order with scores of 84, 85, and 86. The Racers were in 4th after the first 18 holes. As the Racers went to play 9 more, Brian Bowker took advantage of the extra holes as he shot a 2-under par 34, the lowest 9 hole total for any golfer in UNOH history. Jason Klaus was close behind with a 37. Joe Rodriguez also finished in the 30's with a 39. Daniel Rex closed with a 40 and Scott Kayser a 42. For the event, the Racers were led by Daniel Rex and Jason Klaus as they each totaled 115. Brian Bowker's superb 9-hole score totaled him at 118. Joe Rodriguez finished with a 124 and Scott Kayser ended with a 128. The Racers will be back in action on Tuesday, October 7th when they will take part in the Wittenberg Fall Invitational. |
