The UNOH Racers Men's Golf Team traveled to Pataskala, OH to compete in the ODU Otterbein Kisor Classic over the weekend. The Racers played 54 holes in the two days and shot a team total of 927 to finish 8th of 15 teams. Junior Jason Klaus set two school records at the ODU Otterbein Kisor Classic. On his 3rd round, Klaus fired a school record 70 to catapult him into 7th overall place in the event. The 70 also brought his 3 round total to 222, a new school record as well. Also with the round of 70, Klaus was the medalist for the third round at the event. Klaus shot 76's in his first two rounds. Senior Daniel Rex finished T-18th overall as he shot a 77, 78, and 74 for the event giving him a three round total of 229. Senior Joe Hobensack finished T-54th with scores of 78, 85, and 76 for a three round total of 239. Freshman Matt Warnecke was consistent at the event with scores of 82, 81, and 81 to finish with a 244 and T-73rd. Sophomore Scott Denig led the Racers in his first round with a 75, but couldn't continue the magic as he shot 86 and 90 in his final two rounds to finish with a three day total of 251 and in 79th place. As a team, the Racers shot 306 for Round 1, a 320 for Round 2, and in Round 3, the Racers fired a 301, which is a new UNOH record for a team in 18 holes. The Racers will be back in action on Tuesday, September 15th as they will play in the John P. Speiss Memorial at Ironwood G.C. |
