UNOH made a little more history on Friday night as they traveled to Spalding University for the first time. With the 72-65 victory over the Golden Eagles of Spalding, the UNOH Racers for the first time in school history defeated an NCAA opponent and also won the 2nd game in a row for the first time all season.

The game began with the Racers in control as they executed early and took a 13-6 lead 8 minutes into the game. UNOH would go on to lead the rest of the first half as they went into halftime with a 33-28 lead.

Spalding would start the second half with a 6-0 run to take the lead early in the second half. The Racers largest deficit of the night came at the 16:00 minute mark remaining in the game as they were down 40-36. The Racers in the next 13 minutes would go on a 20-10 run to extend the lead to it's largest for the Racers at 62-52.

The Golden Eagles cut the lead to 4 with 2:00 minutes remaining, but clutch performances by the Racers sealed the victory at 72-65. UNOH led all but 4 minutes of the entire contest to improve the Racers to 5-10 on the season.

The Racers put 5 players in the double figure scoring column. Leading the way for the Racers was Kyle Gillette with 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Brandon Miller recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Aaron Braun chipped in 12 points off the bench. Josh Vorst totaled 11 points and 4 assists. Isaac Bowers also reached 11 points, and also dished out 4 assists and swiped 4 steals.

The Racers will be back in action on Saturday, December 22nd as they will face Indiana University Southeast at 3:00 PM.
