Final Stats

The UNOH Racers were looking to get back on the winning trail as they squared off against Siena Heights in the opening game of the St. Francis Tournament. The Racers rallied late in regulation, but fell in overtime by a final of 82-78.

The Racers and Saints battled back and forth early in the contest, as the Racers held a slim 4 point halftime lead. The Racers extended that lead to as many as 10 early in the opening minutes of the second half. But the Saints regrouped and marched their way back to a lead of 4 with under 2 minutes to play.

The Racers eventually tied the game under a minute to go, and had a late turnover with a chance to win the game under :10 seconds remaining. In overtime, the Saints quickly jumped out to a 5 point lead in two possessions. Once again the Racers fought back, but this time couldn't finish the comeback as a missed layup under :30 seconds remaining cost the Racers a chance to take the lead.

Leading the way for the Racers was Junior Isaac Bowers, who broke the school record for most 3 pointers in a game with 7. He was 7 of 14 from behind the arc and finished with 23 points. Senior Josh Vorst totaled 20 points, and also grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 6 assists. Junior Kyle Gillette rounded out the double digit scoring with 14 points and 7 rebounds as well.

Sophomore's Dustin Guthrie and DeMarcus Jackson had 8 and 7 points respectively. Senior Marcus Addy totaled the remaining Racer points with 6. Junior Brandon Miller had 5 rebounds for the Racers.

With the loss, the Racers move to 1-2 on the season, and will face OSU-Lima Rhodes State in the consolation game of the St. Francis Tournament. The game is scheduled to start at 2:00 pm. This will be the first of three matchups between the Barons and the Racers.
