Final Stats

The Racers faced Marygrove College for the third time this season on Wednesay evening, and even the blizzard couldn't cool off the Racers and their shooting as they defeated Marygrove 87-82. The Racers are now 3-0 on the season against Marygrove College.

The Mustangs came out with the hot-hand against the Racers early and often in the first half as they held an 11 point halftime lead, 40-29. The Mustangs used a 54% first half shooting, including going (6-9) from downtown to establish the lead.

The second half was a different story as the Racers came out with a high level of intensity. Point guard Isaac Bowers connected on three straight triple's to cut the Mustang lead significantly. From there, Marygrove kept pace with the Racers for much of the second half, including extending their lead to eight points with just under seven minutes left to play. However, the Racers were too much to handle down the stretch as the Racers eventually won 87-82.

The Racers second-half shooting proved to be too strong as they were 66% from the field for the half. The leading scorer for the Racers was Josh Vorst with 36 while connecting on five three pointers. Vorst was also 8-11 from the 2 point land and also connected on all 5 free throws to tie his career high of 36 points.
