Final Stats

The Racers took on Marygrove College for the 2nd time this season on Saturday afternoon in a packed gymnasium. UNOH used an uptempo style of game to excite the crowd and also send the Mustangs of Marygrove into a hole they couldn't overcome. UNOH defeated Marygrove 100-71.

The Racers jumped out from the beginning as they took an early 9-2 lead 2 minutes into the game. After a brief scare from Marygrove early on, UNOH used an 8-0 run, including 6 points from Kyle Gillette that gave UNOH 25-14 lead with 10 minutes left in the first half. The lead would hover for the rest of the first half as the Racers went into the break leading 46-33. Josh Vorst led the first half in scoring with 18 points.

In the second half, it was all UNOH. The Racers used excellent shooting from the floor (56%) and the free throw line (87%) to bury the Mustangs. The Racers would exploit the Mustangs for an eventual 32 point lead, the largest of the game. Leading the entire contest, the final outcome of the game was tallied at 100-71. It was the second time this season that the Racers exceeded 100 points, both resulting in victories.

Leading the way for the Racers was Josh Vorst as he totaled 28 points, Vorst also dished out 6 assists. Jason Sarno scored 23 points and also grabbed 8 rebounds. Kyle Gillette scored 21 points, and doubled the effort as he grabbed 10 rebounds as well. Marcus Addy came off the bench to provide 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Every Racer scored in the contest for the first time this season.

The win moves the Racers to a record of 7-14, including being 4-3 at home. The Racers will be back in action on Wednesday, January 23rd when they travel to Notre Dame College with the tip set for 8:00 PM.
