The UNOH Racers spent another weekend on the road. This road trip was a little different than the previous. The Racers faced two NAIA Division I opponents, but also they were both nationally ranked. On Saturday, UNOH fell to #30 Lindsey Wilson College in OT 78-71. On Friday night, the Racers lost to #6 Campbellsville University by a final of 86-63. On Saturday afternoon, the game between Lindsey Wilson College and UNOH saw a basketball game of runs. Both teams at one time in the game held 10 point leads. The Racers held a 10 point lead with 6 minutes left in the game, only to find themselves down by 2 with under :20 seconds remaining. Josh Vorst's put back after a missed three forced the game into overtime. LWC took an early OT lead and never looked back and ended any hopes of an upset for the Racers and outscored UNOH 13-6 in OT. Josh Vorst tied career and season highs on Saturday afternoon with 36 points. Kyle Gillette and Jason Sarno also reached double figures with 12 and 11. Brandon Miller grabbed 8 rebounds and Isaac Bowers dished out 5 assists. On Friday night, it was a little different story as #6 Campbellsville came out strong in the second half against UNOH and put the Racers in a tough hole for the remainder of the game. The Racers trailed by 10 at the break, but couldn't keep up with the highly talented opponent and lost 86-63. Leading the way for UNOH was Jason Sarno who totaled 20 points. Also in double digits was Isaac Bowers with 15 points. Kyle Gillette and Brandon Miller grabbed the boards together as they totaled 7 rebounds each. With the two losses, the Racers now fall to 6-14 on the season. The Racers have 8 games left, which two of them are against #1 Mountain State University, a NAIA Division I opponent. Next up for the Racers is Marygrove College on Saturday, January 12th with tip set for 1:00 pm. In their previous meeting, the Racers defeated Marygrove College 94-82. |
