Chris Adams is entering his 3rd season as the head coach of the men's basketball team at University of Northwestern Ohio during the 2009-10 season. The Racers were preseason voted to finish 3rd in the AMC South Division. The Racers also received a vote in the Preseason NAIA National Rankings to give a high outlook for the 2009-10 season.

Coach Chris Adams led the Racers into their first year of the American Mideast Conference during the 2008-09 season. The Racers were preseason ranked to finish 11th out of 14 teams. Coach Adams led the Racers to an overall record of 18-14 in just their 2nd season, and also a 4th place finish in the AMC with a record of 9-4. The Racers got there by upsetting two nationally ranked AMC opponents in Daemen and Mt. Vernon Nazarene. During the season, the Racers also reached a new high appearing in the NAIA National Rankings and peaked at #36 in the nation. The Racers earned their 1st postseason victory as they defeated Daemen in the first round of the AMC Tournament. The Racers then lost to Mt. Vernon Nazarene to end their 2008-09 campaign. On a personal level, Coach Adams recorded his 400th career win (all levels) against Shawnee State on January 26th.

2007-08was the first season for UNOH Men's Basketball since the 1986-87 season, which at the time was considered a 2-year school. Coach Adams led the Racers to a 9-19 record for it's first season ever as a 4-year program. Coach Adams gained his first victory while playing University of Miami-Middletown, as they won in thrilling fashion in double overtime. The Racers were 4-4 at home in their first season back with wins over Notre Dame College, Goshen College, Marygrove College, and Siena Heights. The Racers will enter as full members into the American Mideast Conference in 2008-09 and will look to compete for a league title.

Adams comes to UNOH with 25 years of head varsity high school coaching experience. With those 25 years, Adams has obtained a career coaching record of 380 wins and 189 losses, for a career winning percentage of .667.

Before arriving at UNOH Coach Adams spent 21 years of being the men's varsity head coach at Elida High School. While at Elida, Adams reached a career record of 308 wins, the most in school history. Under Coach Adams, the Elida Bulldogs accomplished 13 sectional titles and 2 district titles. Coach Adams received many awards and recognitions while at Elida High School; Western Buckeye League Coach of the Year 5 times, Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 1998, District 8 Coach of the Year 2 times. Also while at Elida, Adams was the President of both the District 8 Coaches Association and the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association.

Coach Adams received his first head coaching position at Springfield Central Catholic High School. He was the varsity head coach for 4 years before taking his position at Elida High School. Adams recorded a record of 72 wins and 24 losses and also made it to regional competition in 2 of the 4 seasons. While at SCC, Adams was the Southwestern Ohio Coach of the Year and also the Clark County Coach of the Year.

Before taking the head position at SCC, Adams was the assistant men's basketball coach at Wittenberg University for 1 year.

Adams received his bachelor's degree in Biology from Wittenberg University, where he also played collegiate basketball. He also received a Master's Degree in Physical Education from The Ohio State University. Adams is married to Jan and they have two children, Drew and Julie.
