Ryan comes to UNOH from CBCC-Cantonsville in Baltimore, MD. IN his sophomore season of junior college he posted a 6-2 record with a 2.8 ERA in 42 innings. His freshman year of junior college he attended Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, MD where he posted a 5-0 record and recording 10 saves, which was in the top ten nationally amongst Division 1 junior college closers, as well as a Chesapeake College record. Ryan earned 1st team All-Region XX honors, as well as 1st team All-Conference, and was a participant in the Maryland Juco All-Star game. Staton was also successful in the classroom earning Academic All-American honors in both years of college. "Ryan is one of most fierce competitors on our pitching staff this season and will see early action this spring once he can remain healthy. Plagued with reoccurring tendonitis, Ryan has worked meticulously on redefining his mechanics and should be a great asset to our program this spring."
Ryan is the son of Ronald and Debra Staton who reside in Baltimore, Maryland
