Dayfran Ortiz

Dayfran Ortiz helped lead the Racers to their first ever Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament championship earlier in the week. He excelled both at the plate and behind it as UNOH's starting catcher in all four contests. He recorded seven hits throughout the tournament, but it was his perfect 3-for-3 performance in the championship game which shined the most. He gave the Racers the lead in the bottom of the second over Davenport with a two-run home run over the left field wall before a one-out double in the fourth led to the team's fourth run being scored by Felix Correa who came in as a courtesy runner. His defense was also key as no opposing player stole a base against UNOH. The Racers also allowed just five runs all tournament with him behind the plate.
